API changelog

Notable changes to the Ledgerline API, dashboard and SDKs, newest first. Breaking changes ship only in a new dated API version, and your organization stays on its pinned version until you upgrade. See API versioning.

2026-10-06

Added

• Python SDK 4.1.0 adds an asynchronous client, ledgerline.AsyncClient. See Python SDK.
• Node SDK 4.2.0 adds ll.lastResponse.rateLimit for reading rate limit headers. See Node.js SDK.

2026-09-01: API version 2026-09-01

Changed (version-gated, breaking)

• available on account balances is now net of pending outflows. Previously it equalled the posted balance. See Account balances.
• Payout objects include a returned status, and payout.returned is a distinct event. Before this version, returns reused failed.
• parameter_invalid errors always include the param field.

• FedNow joins RTP as a USD instant rail (fednow). See Payment rails.
• fx.conversion.completed event.

• Reconciliation tolerances per bank account.

• Webhook deliveries to endpoints that responded with 3xx were sometimes retried twice in the same minute.

Deprecated

• Creating payouts with POST /v1/transfers and type=ach. Use POST /v1/payouts. Transfers now move money only between accounts in the same organization.

• POST /v1/transactions rejects entries whose currency differs from the account's with currency_mismatch. Earlier versions coerced silently.
• List endpoints return next_cursor and has_more, replacing the page and total fields.

• Idempotency keys are retained for 24 hours (previously 12).
